From 8-10 May 2023, VIRTIGATION partners gathered in Tel Aviv, Israel, for the project’s annual meeting, in order to take stock of the progress made and discuss the next research & innovation actions foreseen for the project. This second face-to-face annual meeting took place in the premises of our partner Volcani Center (VC) near Tel Aviv. 

From 30 March – 1 April 2022, VIRTIGATION partners gathered in Europe’s greenhouse capital Almería in Spain for the project’s annual meeting, in order to assess progress made and discuss the next steps ahead for the project. The first face-to-face annual meeting took place in the premises of our partner TECNOVA near Almería.

In parallel to its annual meeting, the project also officially launched the VIRTIGATION network through a workshop with key local stakeholders from the Almería horticulture value chain. The stakeholder workshop was co-organized by our partners TECNOVA and AGAPA, the National Knowledge Broker for the VIRTIGATION network in Spain.  

On the 15th-16th of June 2021, the VIRTIGATION project held its kick-off meeting as a virtual meeting due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions imposed by national authorities across the globe. Although partners couldn’t meet personally, an international cooperation was successfully established in the virtual kick-off meeting, which 59 participants from the VIRTIGATION consortium attended. Furthermore, VIRTIGATION’s EU project officer from the Research Executive Agency, Guido Guidetti also attended the meeting, alongside Gisela Quaglia from the EU Commission Directorate-General for Agriculture & Rural Development, as well as Panagiota Mylona from the EU Commission Directorate-General for Health & Food Safety.
